Western
United Electric Supply Corporation (WUE) was
established in June 1976 to provide an avenue for
the Rural Electric Cooperatives, in the Rocky
Mountain region, to combine their annual material
needs, and create the buying power necessary to
obtain the best available material costs, and prompt
shipments, from stock and the manufacturer.
 Over the
past thirty years, WUE has become one
of the largest single house electric utility
distributors in the nation. This was accomplished by
focusing on our original goal of supplying superior
service and working hard with our cooperative owners
to create steady and continued growth.
WUE is a material supply organization owned by
forty-seven (47) electric cooperatives in the
states of Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico Utah, and Nebraska.
WUE maintains its own truck fleet and has the
largest electric utility inventory and warehouse in
the Rocky Mountain region.
While the primary customers are cooperatives, WUE
serves municipalities and investor owned utilities
in Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas and Utah.
WUE is committed to long-term growth and existence
of the Rural Electric Cooperative in the electric
utility industry. We are certain that our
capabilities and experience with inventory
management programs makes us specifically qualified
to provide our customers with the level of “value
added” service that is necessary to assure each
customer the capability to achieve the best price
possible.
WUE’s business practices and processes are
continuously being audited to assure that we remain
the most competitive, most cost effective, and most
efficient stocking distributor in our service
territory. This was evident in the most recent
Electrical Wholesaling ranking of the top 250
electrical distributors in the United States. WUE
was listed as number 93 in overall sales, but more
outstanding is that WUE was number ONE when
comparing the number of employees to total sales.
WUE has been ranked number ONE seven times out of
the last eight years. It is our opinion this
verifies that our processes are remaining efficient,
and cost effective.
